- St. Dennis School provides an enrichment program for Grades 2 thru 5 called B.R.I.D.G.E.S.(Building Relationships In Diverse Group Experiences).
Once a week students and teachers of these grades gather together to share relevant experiences and engage in reality based activities relating to a particular theme. This allows the teachers to use their combined strengths and talents. The students can meet in both small and large group settings which allows them to enrich their learning .
For the 2009-10 school year the State of Michigan has been chosen as the topic of exploration. In the unique setting of B.R.I.D.G.E.S. the students will gain an appreciation and understanding of our state including its history and rich heritage. - St. Dennis School has a "Buddy System" in place that allows diverse age groups to intermingle. For example, our 8th graders partner up with a buddy in Kindergarten. Throughout the school year the 8th graders accompany and sit with their K-Buddy at our weekly Mass. In addition, they join up for seasonal activities such as pumpkin carving, Thanksgiving celebration, Christmas caroling and an Easter egg hunt. They also visit with each other in the classroom during the school year to work on various activities. Our 3rd graders have the same system in place with the Pre-Kindergartners.
- In addition, St. Dennis students are involved in various community activities including regular visit to Senior Citizen residences.
- St. Dennis recently received a grant which will be used to further upgrade and improve its already high standard of educational excellence.
- St. Dennis has been designated an Emerald School for its outstanding efforts to create a safer and cleaner environment by far exceeding the requirements for Green School status.
- The St. Dennis Child Development Center provides an enriching environment for infant through school age children. The center is in the south wing of the school and provides care from 7am to 6pm Monday through Friday.
St. Dennis School provides an atmosphere that allows our students to get the attention they need and ensures they become all that God intends them to be.
